Student Excellence Awards
Children’s Health Research Institute’s mandate extends outside the laboratory with its efforts to bring research into the classroom. In 2000, Children’s Health Research Institute in partnership with local school boards, initiated the first annual Students and Science Essay Contest. The scope of this program was broadened in 2003 when it became a joint educational initiative sponsored by Partners in Research and The University of Western Ontario.
The contest provides an opportunity for science teachers to enhance their curriculum format, while developing students' literacy, hone students' research, analysis and writing skills and win some great prizes!
The theme for the contest is "How does health research help kids?"
