Research
Research
My research has been collaborative in nature, working with other resaerchers in child and adolescent mental health locally, provincially and nationally. I have been interested in educational research, particularly educating family physicians about child and adolescent mental health. Presently I am leading a national collaborative group known as Physician Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (PT-CAP). This project is a Canada-wide initiative which will identify needs of family physicians, general practitioners and paediatricians in rural and remote areas in their knowledge and skills in the area of child and youth mental health.
I am strongly committed to education at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development levels of training. I believe in balance of different teaching methods including didactic, small group, and problem based learning.
