FUNDING OPPORTUNITIESAs part of its mission, the Children’s Health Research Institute is committed to encouraging and supporting London-based research that aims to improve children’s health. Two research awards competitions are held annually for CHRI Scientists and Associate Scientists, the CHRI Internal Research Grant Fund Competition and the Children’s Optimal Therapeutics Program Internal Research Grant Fund Competition. The CHRI Internal Research Grant Fund Competition has been highly successful in fostering the research of the scientists and associate scientists within each of its five programs through the provision of funding support for pilot projects, new projects where there is potential for extramural funding, established projects requiring support where existing funds are insufficient and equipment purchases. In addition to this, support is provided for graduate students. This competition is held in March and approximately $50,000 is awarded annually. Since 1999, this fund has awarded $491,579 to 75 applicants. Announcement, Guidelines and Application Form:
The Children’s Optimal Therapeutics Program Internal Grant Fund
Competition is a new program that was established to support start-up
or small clinical research projects. Pilot data is critical to the success
of clinical investigations and the availability of funding through this
bi-annual competition will be important in the development of this CHRI
program to international excellence in research. This fund will award
approximately $5,000 per competition. |
