NEWS & EVENTS - 2010January 18, 2010 - CHRI Scientist is appointed as Chair of CIHR Selection Committee
Dr. Bill Avision, Chair, Child Health & Well-Being program at CHRI was appointed to Chair the CIHR selection committee for the Canadian Child Health Clinician Scientist Program. The Canadian Child Health Clinician Scientist Program (CCHCSP) provides support for highly qualified child health clinician candidates to develop their requisite knowledge and skills for a career as an independent scientist in child health research.
January 15, 2010 - CHRI Scientist is appointed Editor of Society & Mental Health Journal
Dr. Bill Avison, Chair, Child Health & Well-Being program at CHRI, a Professor in the departments of Sociology, Paediatrics and Epidemology at Western and the Assistant Director of the Lawson Health Research Institute can add editor to his list of duties. Dr. Avision has been appointed Editor of Society & Mental Health, the journal of the Sociology of Mental Health Section of the American Sociological Association. This new journal will begin publishing articles on sociology and mental illness in 2011.
January 11, 2010 - CHRI Scientist recognized as Distinguished Faculty by the Epigenetic World Congress
Dr. Nathalie Bérubé a scientist with the Molecular Genetics Program at CHRI is named as one of Distingulshed Faculty by the Epigentic World Congress.
January 4, 2010 - CHRI Trainee publishes First Author paper.
Ph. D student Christine Bell of Dr. Andy Watson's lab published her second first author paper in PLoS One journal, entitled "SNAI1 and SNAI2 Are Asymmetrically Expressed at the 2-Cell Stage and Become Segregated to the TE in the Mouse Blastocyst".
