PROUD SUPPORTER OF CHILDREN’S HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Children’s Health Foundation helped establish Children’s
Health Research Institute in 1987 with a shared goal of developing CHRI
into a world class research facility striving to determine the causes,
cures and prevention of childhood diseases.
Since then, Children’s Health Foundation has contributed over $15.5
M supporting those goals. From 2000 to 2003 alone, CHF contributed $3.9
M to assist in the relocation of CHRI into its new labs within Lawson
Health Research Institute at the Victoria Research Laboratories adjacent
to Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario.
Children’s Health Foundation has been raising money for
Children’s for nearly a century.
Children’s Health Foundation is dedicated to raising and granting
funds to support specialized health care and research for children and
youth – now and in the future.
Money is raised annually through a variety of fund raising programs,
including Change Bandits for Children’s, Radiothon, local community
events, golf tournaments, service club support, Children’s Miracle
Network sponsor programs, direct marketing initiatives, and personal and
business support.
They are leading the way to help build the NEW Children’s Hospital
of Western Ontario with a commitment of raising $12 million by 2008.
Overall, Children’s Health Foundation has three specific
fundraising priorities:
1. Children’s Building Fund: Help build and equip the NEW Children’s
Hospital of Western Ontario
2. Children’s Hospital Fund: Provide funding for specialized treatment
programs and purchases of new medical equipment
3. Children’s Research Fund : Support research that will lead to
a better understanding of children’s diseases and new treatments
and cures.
Children’s Health Foundation is a member of Children’s Miracle
Network, an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping
children by raising funds for 170 children’s Hospitals across North
America.
