Information for CHRI Trainees


CHRI is dedicated to the advancement of understanding of the causes, cures and long-term effects of children’s diseases and disabilities. The provision of training to tomorrow’s scientific leaders is an essential component of our mission.


CHRI in partnership with the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, The University of Western Ontario, and Lawson Health Research Institute offer training opportunities for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students in medicine and summer students. Trainees at CHRI have the opportunity of working with internationally recognized Scientists in state-of-the-art facilities with access to leading-edge technology. Research at CHRI is highly collaborative involving biomedical scientists, clinicians and population health researchers. The ongoing collaboration between different disciplines enables our trainees to develop a stronger understanding of the relevance and impact of research on child health.

Postdoctoral Position in Epigenetics


Successful candidates will join the EpiGenWestern team based within the Children’s Health Research Institute and affiliated with the University of Western Ontario. EpiGenWestern is a dynamic, collaborative research team that aims to understand the contribution of epigenetics and chromatin remodeling to fundamental molecular mechanisms involved in development, childhood diseases, and cancer. Graduate Positions Available

 

A Physiology graduate student position has opened up at the Master's level for this fall. The position is funded for 2 years and the student will be co-supervised by Drs. Fraser and Cepinskas. The topic will be related to Critical Illness in children and likely have a Translational Biology component.
